Back-Breaking ‘WAP’ Dance Sends TikTokers To The Hospital
TikTok has done it again as yet another dance has taken over the social media platform. However, unlike past popular dance trends like ‘Renegade’ or ‘Say So’ which even novice dancers can perfect, the ‘WAP’ dance has proven to be more of a challenge.
Soon after Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion released their explicit and sex-positive chart-topping single ‘WAP’, dancer and choreographer Brian Esperon wasted no time in creating his original dance for the new hit. Almost immediately, Esperon’s dance became a viral sensation with the original #wapchallenge video reaching 6.4 million views and the dance tutorial reaching 16.4 million views.  While typical viral TikTok dances require little to no dance skills, the fast-paced WAP dance includes twerking, high kicks and splits, leaving inflexible or beginner dancers with pulled muscles and bruised egos. While some users have nailed the new dance trend, others haven’t been so lucky. When TikTok user @tonkatrance initially posted her version of the #wapchallenge, it seemed that she had completed the dance successfully. However, days later, Trance uploaded a video titled “Things I wish I knew before I danced to WAP”, saying “you won’t be able to wear shorts or a skirt for at least a week because your legs are covered in bruises. And you are also going to pinch your neck”. If Trance’s #wapchallenge injuries were not enough of a warning for other TikTokers to not attempt the dance trend, TikTok user @lib_bbbbbbb definitely will. In the video, @lib_bbbbbbb pops her knee out of its socket while attempting to do the splits. The video continues with her being wheeled away on a gurney to be taken to a hospital. The video concludes with the user in the hospital with a brace on her knee and an IV in her arm. Cardi B herself even posted the #wapchallenge fail to her Instagram with the caption “please guys be safe while doing the WAP WAP WAP”, warning fans to be cautious when attempting the dance.

Hyderabad, Aug 17 Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat , best known for directing the thriller drama “ Drishyam ”, died on Monday after battling liver cirrhosis for two years, the AIG Hospitals here said. Kamat , who had multiple organ failure, was admitted to hospital on July 31 with complaints of fever and excessive fatigue. “It was diagnosed that he was suffering from liver cirrhosis for the past two years. Initially, we started antibiotics and supportive medications upon which Mr. Kamat showed an improvement, but his condition soon deteriorated with progressive liver dysfunction and drowsiness,” the hospital said. The director was immediately shifted to the ICU, where his general condition gradually declined. He had also developed respiratory failure and hypotension on Sunday.
